MA+ Architecture was asked to design a new addition to Canadian Valley Technology Center's expanding health care training facility in Chickasha. The new project consists of a 36,000-square-foot addition that will create a 21st century learning environment for their students and will include classrooms, administration offices, labs and student lounge areas. Included in this design is a multi-purpose classroom that is built as a hardened space for increased safety during severe weather. This hardened room, capable of holding 520 people, is located near the front of the building for quick, easy access and is also shared by the daycare during severe storms. Approximately 16,000 square feet of the existing building was remodeled to update current Practical Nursing and Surgery Technology classrooms and labs. The project was completed in the summer of 2015.
